Welfare Rights

Lewes District Citizens Advice advises on all aspects of benefit and tax credit entitlement and can help you with your application.

This covers any of the 82 different benefits and tax credits from Pension Credit to disability benefits such as Personal Independent Payment or Attendance Allowance.

If you have applied for benefits but been refused or if you have received an overpayment of benefits, we can advise you on your next steps and help you to challenge a decision. This includes advice on possible grounds for appeal and help to lodge your appeal.

We can offer a full benefit check and also look at different outcomes if you are facing different scenarios or choices. This can be done either over the telephone or in a face-to-face appointment and we can support you with application form filling.

We have a dedicated Universal Credit specialist adviser who can help you with making a new claim for UC, resolving problems with an existing claim and deciding whether or not to move onto Universal Credit from legacy benefits.
